Claude's Creative Toolkit: 8 MCP Connectors in One Day
Anthropic launched eight MCP-based connectors for Claude on April 28th, linking the assistant directly to Blender, Adobe Creative Cloud, Autodesk Fusion, Ableton, Splice, Canva Affinity, SketchUp, and Resolume. It is Anthropic's largest single-day expansion of creative-tool integrations — and the connectors are protocol-level: any MCP-compatible model can use them, not only Claude.
What the Source Actually Says
Each connector exposes a tool's native API through natural language. The Blender integration is the headline example: users can analyze and debug full Blender scenes, run batch scripts that apply changes across every object in a project, and add custom tools directly to Blender's own interface — all by describing intent rather than writing Python from scratch. AlphaSignal's coverage drew 7,294 likes on the launch tweet, signalling strong traction across the developer community.
The Adobe Creative Cloud connector orchestrates multi-step workflows spanning Photoshop, Illustrator, Firefly, and Premiere from a single Claude conversation. Autodesk Fusion lets designers and engineers create or modify 3D models through dialogue. Affinity by Canva handles batch image adjustments, layer renaming, and file export. Splice surfaces its royalty-free sample catalog inside Claude — removing the context switch music producers currently make between their DAW and a sample browser.
Alongside the connector launches, Anthropic announced it joined the Blender Development Fund as a patron, committing financial support to the open-source foundation behind the software. That goes further than a surface-level API hook. The connectors install directly from Claude's Settings → Connectors menu.
Strategic Take
The MCP substrate is the strategic signal: because these connectors are protocol-level rather than Claude-exclusive, every new integration compounds the value of the MCP ecosystem for every compatible model. Builders wiring creative workflows should map their tool surfaces to MCP now — the ecosystem is accreting rapidly and the integration pattern is already proven.
