Claude Platform on AWS Goes Generally Available
Anthropic's native Claude Platform is now generally available on AWS as of 2026-05-12. Enterprises access it using their existing AWS authentication, billing, and commitment retirement — no separate Anthropic account, contracts, or billing required. The platform includes Claude Managed Agents, advisor tools, web search and fetch, MCP connector, Agent Skills, code execution, and Files API. Critically, new model and feature drops happen on the same day as the first-party Claude API. Amazon Bedrock remains available for workloads requiring strict regional data residency.
Why It Matters
This collapses the "use Bedrock for AWS-native, but lose feature freshness" trade-off that has slowed enterprise Claude adoption. For most US enterprise customers, the native AWS path is now the dominant choice.
